Fremont Recording presents Molly Kate & Nathan Earle.
Molly Kate has been writing and singing since before she could remember, and her high-school years became a time for lyrical exploration. She found such a passion for writing that in college she continued her studies and earned a bachelor's from Western Oregon University in English/Writing. Molly's competed in various vocal competitions, and has performed professionally throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Many (if not all) of her songs reflect an eclectic Pacific Northwest upbringing, sweetly spun around her folksy roots. Often implementing rich imagery in her lyrics, she evokes the distant sailing ships, and verdant forests of the often overcast Oregon coast. Her strong, and yet hauntingly sweet vocals, paired with her simple and direct guitar progressions, results in a combination that hearkens to an earlier decade of folk music.
On June 25th 2013 she released her premier EP album Of the Ocean with the help of producer and sound engineer Brud Giles of Fremont Recording in Portland, Oregon. The artists she worked with on her album include Brud Giles, J.P. Garau, Greg Hyatt, and Jenny Conlee of The Decemberists.
Most recently Molly has released her first single titled "A Girl Who Waits" which was released on May 15th 2014. With the help of Amanda Breese (on backing vocals, and piano), Anna Tivel on the fiddle, and Brud Giles on percussion.
Nathan Earle opens.
